What 316L asks for

Warm water, a drop of washing-up liquid, a soft cloth. That is the complete care instruction.

Why so little is enough

The chromium in the alloy forms a passive layer on the surface that renews itself after scratches. Unlike silver, 316L therefore does not tarnish. There is nothing to polish away.

Regularly

• Wipe with a dry, soft cloth after wearing.
• When needed, clean in lukewarm water with mild soap.
• Clasp and gaps with a very soft brush, without pressure.
• Dry completely – especially inside the clasp.

What not to use

No silver cloth, no polish, no ultrasonic cleaner. And no scouring agents, no baking soda, no toothpaste: all of them are abrasive and damage a polished surface.

Water, sport, the sea

316L is corrosion-resistant and uncoated. Showering and sport are no problem. After salt or chlorinated water, rinse with clean water and dry – that keeps the surface looking clean for longer.

Storing it

Dry and, where possible, separately. Direct contact with other metal parts causes scratches; a soft pouch or its own compartment is enough.
